My Story

Katies is refined bar that features fine woodwork built by master carpenters, modeled after fine Irish pubs from Old New York City as well as Ireland Coustomers enjoy the warm and inviting enviorment of this Smithtown staple for over 25 years. The name Katies is named after the owner Brian Karppinens GrandMother and Great Grand Mother.

This unique bar has two floors with two bars and a outside patio and is available for private events.

Famously Paranormal

Katies is commonly known as a haunted location built upon the location of the ill fated Trainors Hotel that burned down Dec 5th 1909, many people think that fire may be one of the reasons for the paranormal activities Katies is known for, people from around the world investigating the strange happening that the location has often raised more questions than answers for decades. We have been featured on many popular TV shows including Paranormal State, Ghost Adventures, My Ghost Stories and The Osbornes Want To Believe and many more. Come down and share a toast with good friends as well as the  amazing spirits hanging about Katies.
